Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the TypeExpense app and website (the “Service”), operated by TypeExpense (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

TypeExpense helps you record and review expenses and income, including by typing in natural language that our AI converts into transactions. You may use it individually or share a “family” workspace with others.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

3. Your content

You own the financial data and other content you enter. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and process that content to provide the Service to you and your family, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
  • Misuse the AI features, including attempts to manipulate or bypass safeguards.
  • Upload content that infringes others' rights or that you have no right to share.

5. AI features and accuracy

Not financial advice. TypeExpense, including its AI entry, is a record-keeping tool. It can make mistakes when interpreting your input, and it does not provide financial, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Always review your transactions and rely on your own judgement for financial decisions.

6. Service availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

7. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of any output. You use the Service at your own risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TypeExpense will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see Delete your account). We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any disputes will be subject to the courts located in Bangladesh.
